Race 3

#2 Big Muddy
#6 Domain
#5 Point to Remember

There is lots of experience as far as routes go with some bigtime pedigrees to go along with it but I think they are all could be in trouble if the inexperienced sprinter #2 BIG MUDDY steps up his game on the stretchout. He got quite an experience in his debut, missing the break and dropping back some 20+ lengths from a solid maiden sprint field. Still, he gathered momentum and was really moving in the lane finishing a respectable 4th. He certainly looks like a horse that wants more distance and being a son of Medaglia D’Oro only furthers that idea. Pletcher has a front running type entered to ensure a fast pace and I believe Big Muddy could stretch out successfully. #6 DOMAIN was disappointing on open weekend fading badly after setting lukewarm fractions but he has run a few races that can win this and draws favorably outside. #5 POINT TO REMEMBER was overbet in that same race but did run well and Jerkens has been heating up this week.

Race 6

#1 Magician’s Vanity
#6 Little Code
#9 Lady Love
#1 MAGICIAN’S VANITY was a longshot at this level earlier this meet and will be again today. Still, the veteran mare ran well moving in hand around the turn and getting the lead before being swooped by even deeper closers. Now she cuts back a bit and hopefully Santana gives her a slightly more patient ride and she saves ground and blasts through the pace setters before those same deep closers get there. #6 LITTLE CODE takes a step down in class in my opinion after romping entry level allowance horses at Monmouth. Still, this is the right spot for her and she visually looks like one that could be a nice one. #9 LADY LOVE is a deep, deep closer who might get some pace in here but will need to time it just right.

Race 7

#10 Jumby Bay
#4 Black Canary
#9 Miss Gossip

Race 8 – Evan Shipman

#6 Wine Not
#1 Control Group
#3 Twisted Tom

This is a difficult race as I could make a real case for every horse in here. For that reason, I had to look for a price and made #6 WINE NOT the begrudging pick. While there are some confirmed speed in here and also some confirmed deep closers, Wine Not has a bit of tactical speed and enters off two shorter efforts at Belmont that were better than they look as he was forced in both to swing 6 wide. He still ran well but I think he can run better with a comfortable spot midpack and he will be a fair price. #1 CONTROL GROUP prepped for this with two wins at Finger Lakes around the two turns. His game is speed and he drew the rail and will be a threat to wire this field. #3 TWISTED TOM won the 3 year old version of this race last year and, while he comes off a no show effort, is consistent enough to be the horse to beat here.
